After being “axed” back in March, the Baggs family of GOGGLEBOX has made a grand return to the show.
The four previously revealed that they were dropped from the Channel 4 show because “there weren’t enough cameras to go around”.
But last night he made a triumphant return in the It series, leaving the audiences very happy.
One fan tweeted: “The Bags are back on Gogglebox. Yep!”
While it said: “OH MY GOD THE BAG’S FAMILY!!!! Never been so happy to see him again after being obsessed with him on Tik Tok!”
This viewer was thrilled: “Great to see the Baggs family back! Well done gogglebox!”
The family – which is from Essex – is made up of mum Lisa, dad Terry and their sons George and Joe.
When he was dropped back in March, it was reported that producers had gotten rid of the newcomers after audience backlash, and fans struggled to warm to him.
But the family vehemently denied it on social media – insisting that they are actually skipping a series due to restrictions on filming during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Instagram at the time, matriarch Lisa shared a screenshot of the original report and wrote: “I can frankly say this is a total lie!
“Due to the Covid restrictions we are unable to film the current series. Working with Channel 4 has been amazing and we look forward to being back one day soon.”
Eldest son Joe supported this on his page – saying that the producers had convinced him that all new families in his first series were criticized online.
He insisted: “Disappointing to address this but we are not spared.
“Due to the lockdown there are not enough cameras to go to the entire cast, and so we decided to call off a series as a family.
“Of course there was criticism about us, with the producers saying it happens to all new families, so it’s not unusual and there’s no reason for people to be cut off from the show.”
An insider previously told daily star: “The Baggs family is out of the show and will no longer appear.
“They only lasted one chain. It was short and sweet.”
Lisa’s husband Terry and son George also starred on the show, with George sharing his brother’s post in his story, saying: “Don’t believe everything you read.”
During the lockdown, Gogglebox worked hard to remove the restrictions surrounding the lockdown rules so that episodes can go on air with = minimal disruption.
Stars who no longer live together have to social distance during filming, and when this is not possible they either move in together or are replaced.
For example, Lee’s caravan isn’t big enough to social distance – so best friend Jenny accompanies her for the duration of filming.
