Gorillaz, AJ Tracey, Girl In Red and more added to Øya Festival 2022 line-up

Gorillaz, AJ Tracy and Girl in Red are among the many new names added to next year’s Oia Festival in Norway.

They are joined by First Aid Kit, Nubya Garcia, Margo Price, Sons of Kemet, Kamal Williams, Arif, Signe Marie Roussad, Myra, Karama and Scarby Skulecorps.

Running between August 9 and 13, the festival will now be headlined by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on Thursday (11) and Aurora on Saturday (13).


Michael Kiwanuka, Pa Saliyu, Bikini Kill and Bebadoobi were also confirmed to play the first festival, which is held in Toyenparken, Oslo.

Oya was nominated in the Best Small Festival category. Granthshala Awards 2020. In a five-star review of the 2019 edition of the program, Granthshala’Andrew Trendel wrote: “It’s clean, it’s green, it’s cool, it’s inclusive – and it all adds up to an infectious vibe […] May all festivals be like this.”

Meanwhile, headliner Arora recently previewed her upcoming new album with the track ‘Giving in to the love’. It follows “Cure for Me,” which came out in the summer.

talking to Granthshala In July, the cast revealed that ‘The Gods We Can Touch’ (out January 21) would not feature “doom, gloom, COVID and horror”, but would be “more playful and fun”, while still being “one of a kind”. Representing “a lot of things that bother me with society and our history.”
