Haim announce return of their annual ‘Haimukkah’ celebrations

Haim has announced the return of its “Haimukka” ceremony.

The band took to Twitter in giant menorah hats to mark their annual Hanukkah-centric tradition.

“It’s time to light up the menorah, the eight days of haimukkah are back! Come back to our Instagram every day this week for gifts, announcements and special surprises!” Brothers and sisters wrote

Last year, he dropped his first original holiday song — a Hanukkah-themed rendition of The Waitress’s 1982 classic “Christmas Wrapping.”

In 2019, Haim released a cover of Leonard Cohen’s If It Be Your Will as part of the Hanukkah compilation album Hanukkah+, which also featured The Flaming Lips and Jack Black.

Last year, the Los Angeles organization sold ‘Hamukka’ holiday shirts to aid The Tree of Life, a Pittsburgh synagogue where 11 people were killed in mass shootings.

Their annual celebration follows the return of Dave Grohl’s “Hanukkah Sessions”, which saw the now Foo Fighters frontman sing Lisa Loeb’s breakthrough hits “Stay (I Missed You)” and the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop”.

Meanwhile, Haim was recently added to Mad Cool Festival’s 2022 line-up alongside Florence + the Machine, Queens of the Stone Age, CHVRCHES, Sam Fender, Arlo Parks, Glass Animals and Easy Life.

The Madrid event, which has become a five-day festival next year, will run from 6-10 July.

Alana Haim was also recently praised for her first acting performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film Licorice Pizza.

Actor John C. Reilly specifically pointed to her performance, saying: “When Paul sent me that first screen test, I was like, ‘Man, if you can make him feel free to do this, I guess That you have a film.’

“You know the phrase, ‘You can’t take your eyes off her?’ I’ve experienced that feeling before, looking up at a fireplace or a child, but rarely with adults. When I went to the set, I remember sitting there and glued to the monitor, even Even in the midst of that.
