Basketball star Hassan Whiteside – a center who has played for pro teams including the Utah Jazz and Miami Heat – built a penthouse pad Standard Residence, Midtown Miami for 1.2 million dollars.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home features a chef’s kitchen, a large bathroom with a double rain shower, and light wood plank floors.

However, this will not be his mainstay. Whiteside says it will use the purchase as a pied-out area — and that “the option to rent it out for at least 30 days at a time makes it an attractive investment.”

Douglas Elliman’s Ryan Kelly overtook Whiteside in the deal.

Whiteside put the unit on hold on development, earmarked for $1.2 million, for completion by 2023.

The 12-story building – with easy access to the city’s buzzy wenwood and design districts – was developed by Carlos Rosso and, upon its 2023 completion, will feature 228 pied–terre pads by the architecture firm Arquitectonica, with The interiors will be by Urban Robot.

Building amenities include a rooftop pool, a signature restaurant, a gym, an infrared sauna – and fun extras, such as a lounge with karaoke bar and screening rooms, co-working spaces, and an indoor pickleball court. The property has high-speed elevators and high-speed internet.

There will also be an onsite concierge and access to the Standard program of “preferred” pricing at Standard hotels around the world.
