Speaking on the launch of the C41, Alfa Romeo boss Frederick Wasseypur said that his goal for the 2021 season with the Alfa Romeo Challenger was constantly improved.
When asked what his goal would be for the 2021 season, Wasseypur said, “I think for the racing team to always try to make it better, sometimes having a goal is a limit.”
“I think, honestly, that we want to improve, and all the team is motivated by the same goal. We have to go step by step (to make a comeback) at the top of the midfield. But we know it’s a long way. Path. But we are working and improving step by step. “
The car was launched at a special event held in Warsaw, Poland, and was attended by Alfé Romeo team boss Friedrich Wasseypur, technical director Jan Monchaux, and three drivers, Kimi Raikkonen, Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert Kubica.
Alfa Romeo to field the same driver line-up
Both Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi were retained by Alfa Romeo for another season last year. Robert Kubica, who took part in some practice sessions in 2020, will reissue the role for the 2021 season.
After struggling with an underperforming Ferrari engine last year and finishing the season eighth in the standings, the Switzerland-based unit will seek a revival of fortune in 2021, with the new Ferrari engine expected to deliver better performance than last year.
It will be interesting to see how much the team can improve according to the rules, their options are limited.
This will also be a test season for both of their drivers as Antonio Giovinazzi is yet to make an impression inside the car, while Kimi Raikkonen at the age of 41 is not performing at his best.
With many Ferrari Drivers Academy prospects, knocking on the door in Formula One may not allow either or both of the drivers any further extension on their contracts.
