Level 3 offender Shakim Devega, 28, was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center on Clarkson Avenue near Albany Avenue in Crown Heights at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police said investigators believe she was involved in an altercation with another man, who was living at the facility.

Officials said he was pronounced dead at the Kings County Hospital Center.

While the City Medical Examiner’s office hasn’t made an official decision on the manner of death, police say the office found a fracture in the neck and saw signs of foul play.

According to the registry and state correction records, he was convicted of first-degree attempted sexual assault in 2019.

He was sentenced to 42 months in state prison, and was released on parole last year, correction records show.

His post-release surveillance was due to end in 2026.

Records show that he was also paroled in 2016 after serving more than a year in a first-degree attempted robbery.
