Her social media snaps come as the fictional school show prepares to make a comeback.

Waterloo Road is set to return six years after being dropped by the BBC – Chelsea stirred up rumors that she may be reprising her role after retweeting the official Twitter announcement.

The secondary school-set show first aired in 2006 and won fans over its 200-episode run by tackling a slew of tough issues and is now coming back and dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on school children.

BBC drama director Piers Wenger said: ‘Waterloo Road is the ideal lens through which to explore COVID Britain, from the perspective of those who arguably affect young people the most in education.’

The gritty show – which was written by the creators of the ITV prison drama Bad Girls – was originally set in Rochdale, but the series later saw a relocation to Greenock, Scotland.

It has been confirmed that the new episodes will once again be set in Greater Manchester.

Executive Producer Cameron Roach said: ‘Waterloo Road will continue its reputation for kickstarting, supporting and enabling careers in a truly inclusive way, both in front of and behind the camera, from our base in Greater Manchester.’

The first half of the series featured several familiar faces, such as Loose Women panelist Denise Welch, hapless French teacher Steph Haddock, and 33-year-old Hollyoaks actress Chelsea Healy as ditsy but lovable disciple-to-secretary Janice Bryant.
