Disney+ debuted the first trailer for its upcoming “Home Alone” reboot titled “Home Sweet Home Alone.”

The film does not appear to be linked to the original franchise which starred Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern and Katherine O’Hara. Instead, it follows a new youngster in an equally busy household, 10-year-old Max Mercer, played by Archie Yates (“Jojo Rabbit”).

When his family is forced to separate on two flights for their holiday trip to Tokyo, Max is left behind in the shuffle. in the trailer, he is happy to turn the whole house into himself by eating junk food on his trampoline and performing wildly dangerous stunts.

However, when two married robbers decide to break into his house for the holidays, he takes on the responsibility of protecting their home.

‘Home Alone 2’ star Macaulay Culkin calls for Trump’s removal from film with fan’s ‘petition’: ‘Sold out’

Like Culkin’s Kevin McCallister did in the original, Max sets up a “battle plan” and sets up a series of booby traps in his house and some clever weapons to thwart criminals played by Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney. Uses up.

In addition to the cast are Kenan Thompson, Tim Simmons, Isling Bee, Pete Holmes, Devin Rattray, Ellie Maki and Chris Parnell.

Hollywood Reporter notes that a reboot of the classic 1990s comedy by John Hughes and Chris Columbus was written by “Saturday Night Live” writers Mickey Day and Streeter Seidel. It was directed by Dan Mazer and will release on the Disney+ streaming platform on November 12, just in time for the holidays.

Unfortunately, newsweek Reports are that the trailer is getting some negative attention on social media as fans of the original slam the remake as “unnecessary”. Many note that the Oscar-nominated original only came out in 1990 with a sequel that hit 1992 (almost 30 years earlier). Many have stated that the film is not dated enough to require a reboot.
