Brazilian footballer Hulk is set to become a dad again with his ex-wife’s niece.
The former Shanghai SIPG star, 35, who once made a whopping £16.6 million a year playing in China, announced that his wife Camilla is expecting their fourth child in an Instagram post on Monday.
But while they are now happy and smiling, their relationship was born out of controversy.
The gorgeous Camilla, 32, is the niece of the incredibly former Porto ace’s ex-wife, Iran Angelou.
Hulk, who now stars for Atlético Mineiro, married Iran for 12 years before he left her for a Brazilian model.
It was a romance that stunned the South American football world, and appears to have led to a massive betrayal.
keep it in the family
The bodybuilding forward, real name Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, is believed to have called off his marriage sometime in 2019.
Shortly after, reports linked Hulk to Iran’s beautiful niece Camila Angelou.
By March 2020, he wrote on his social media bio that he was ‘married’ again.
The couple then posted several pictures together after wearing the wedding rings.
Argentine newspaper Infobae later revealed that the ‘sudden marriage’ was also due to the fact that Camilla ‘needed a visa to stay in the country (China)’.
A representative of the former Brazilian ace confirmed the relationship with Brazilian website UOL Esporte at the time, claiming that his position was ‘transparent’.
The statement read: “Hulk called Camilla’s parents and brother to tell the truth. They began dating in October.
“It was Hulk himself who made this news public because he didn’t want to hide anything. His position is transparent.”
Camilla was reportedly Iran’s ‘favourite niece’, with the pair sharing several happy photos together on Instagram.
She posted a long message to Iran on her official Instagram explaining the new relationship.
Camilla wrote: “Aunt Iran, let me first tell you that this message is not an explanation or justification for anything.
“I needed to tell you a few things that unfortunately circumstances do not allow me to say personally.
“Although it’s irrelevant to you now, I love and care about you very much, that’s why I’m speaking here.
“I really want you to know things that probably everyone would talk about differently, just speculations, but I really don’t judge them because outsiders know absolutely nothing and most of the time it’s just the situation. want to spoil.
“It’s been very hard to face all this, but I wouldn’t have done it if it weren’t true.
“I never thought this could happen, but we don’t rule our hearts, no one is untouched or free from it. Live the greatest feelings.
“I’m sorry for everything. If I could choose, we wouldn’t go through this, but life doesn’t turn out the way we think.
“They showed me that there was no chance of a possible return, so we let ourselves live.”
Iran has since spoken out about the ‘great pain’ caused by her ex-husband’s relationship with his niece, but Hulk has reprimanded his former partner for ‘treating me like a monster’ and dismissed allegations of infidelity. is addressed.
He said: “I never had an affair with Camilla when I got married. I’m a man. I wasn’t happy in my marriage.
“I had countless reasons. I spent my entire marriage cheating on Iran. She lived a single life. She just wanted the status of the Hulk’s wife.
“Camilla came to China. I don’t think I’m an ugly person and I’m young. Camilla is young and gorgeous. We got engaged. We were single.”
Since their romance is revealed, Hulk and Camilla’s relationship continues to grow stronger.
And now they have shared some exciting news… The couple is expecting their first child together.
The Hulk uploaded photos of the couple holding ultrasound scan photos of the unborn baby lifting Camilla up in the air.
He wrote in a post, “Today with a heart full of gratitude to God, I come to share with you that for the fourth time I am blessed with another child.”
“My heart is filled with so much joy and I can only say thank you to God. We are already looking forward to having your baby, and we love you unconditionally. Come full of health my baby.”
Hulk also posted a video of him dancing with his wife and lifting her in his arms as she snapped photos in the hospital.
He also has two sons, Ian and Tiago, and a daughter, Alice, from his previous marriage to Iran.
The Hulk first appeared in Europe in 2008 with Porto.
His staggering size always stood out on the football pitch, and he was nicknamed the Hulk because of his resemblance to actor and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno.
He was famous for being like a bull, and it was impossible to get him off the ball because of his strength.
Amazingly, playing in China, he managed to become supersized and still looks big today.
Fans somehow looked even more muscular when he returned to training with Shanghai SIPG.
Hulk shared videos and photos of him staying fit by hitting up his home gym, which kept him occupied when the world was in lockdown.
And there were benefits for all to see.
he’s got goals
Hulk’s misconception is that he is a new footballer due to his enormous size.
However, as they say, never judge a book by its cover.
Capped 47 times by Brazil, he has scored 11 international goals – mostly while playing as a winger.
His career began in Japan’s second division in 2007 with Tokyo Verdi, before moving to Porto a year later.
It took him two seasons to find his feet in Portugal, and troubles along the way.
After a tunnel brawl during a 1–0 league loss to fierce rivals Benfica, Hulk was suspended for four games.
But in the 2010–11 season, he started moving forward. An impressive 35 goals in 53 games during Porto’s treble year, in which they also lifted the Europa League, took them to new heights.
Trouble still follows him, although wherever he goes, in 2014 he was forced to pay a £42,000 fine for assaulting two stewards.
he lives the high life
Although he was linked with a move to the Premier League while he was a free agent, Hulk opted to return home to Atlético Mineiro in 2021.
His current salary is believed to be around £40,000 a week – which he was paid once.
In China, where he played for five years, he earned around £320,000 a week – although this is still a far cry from the former Chelsea star Oscar. He made an astonishing £400,000 per week.
And he lives some life off the pitch, as you can imagine.
In 2018, he was spotted aboard his private jet, which has his signature on the side.
Inside, the cabin is decorated with his own image.
Hulk is also a keen art collector, spending his wages on rare paintings by famous artists.
Now, this will be a child with her undivided attention.
