Arlo Parks has canceled eight of its upcoming US tour shows to return home to London and take a break for mental health.

Announcing the news on Instagram on Friday, the 22-year-old singer admitted that she has found herself in a “very dark place”.

Arlo describes himself as ‘Broken’ but reassured fans that she would be up for cancellation—as she would return at the end of September to continue touring.

Arlo has pulled the plug on planned shows in Boston, Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Denver and Salt Lake City.

While the tour will begin on September 26 in Portland, the singer will spend some time in her hometown.

Opening up about his deteriorating mental health in a lengthy Instagram post, Arlo wrote: ‘I’ve been on and off the road for the past 18 months, filling every spare second in the middle and working myself to the bone . It was exciting and I looked forward to grinding in and showing everyone what I was capable of, how grateful I am to be where I am today.

‘People around me started getting worried but I was eager to give in and was afraid to disappoint my fans and myself. I pushed myself unhealthy way, harder than I should have.

Continuing that he has emotionally hit his limits and is ‘exhausted’, Arlo admitted: ‘I now find myself in a very dark place, exhausted and dangerously low’ It is painful to say that my mental health has deteriorated to a vulnerable point, that I am not well, that I am a person with limitations.

“With this in mind, I am having to cancel shows from Boston to Salt Lake City and recommend a tour in Portland.

In the end, the star thanked her loyal fans and vowed to fulfill them, explaining that they can get full ticket refunds.

Arlo’s debut studio album, Compressed in Sunbeams, was released in 2021 – receiving the singer a prestigious Mercury Award.

The songstress also took home the BRIT Award for Best New Artist last year, before beginning her tour at the start of Setpember.

Their tour began in Quebec, Canada and is scheduled to end in Atlanta on October 2.
