In a new pre-Christmas interview, 33-year-old Rylan Clarke admitted he is looking forward to a ‘fresh start’ after a ‘very difficult’ year, admitting: ‘I need a break, not a breakdown! ‘

‘I definitely need a break rather than a breakdown!’ Presenter added.

Elsewhere, Rylan revealed that he is putting up six Christmas trees to find ‘a little bit of joy’ at home after a ‘very difficult year’.

He told the publication: ‘I’m going out! Years after I – which everyone knows have been very difficult for me – I just want to have some fun and have a little fun in my own home.

Sources close to Rylan told The Mail on Sunday that the couple tried to reconcile their matrimonial home after spending most of the summer with their mother, Linda.

The former couple married at Brexted Park in Essex in 2015 with guests including their This Morning co-stars Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

They met in 2013 and got engaged in Paris. In July 2016, he stepped in for Mr. Holmes and Ms. Langsford, becoming the first gay couple to feature an ITV program.
