Danny asked: ‘Are you sick?’ To which David replied sweetly: ‘Oh, yes, every day. Every day I love my girlfriend more. Every day I am more obsessed with my life.

‘I can’t wait, I can’t wait to go out and tell them how much I miss them. I think I’m going to hug my little girl for two hours. She will not understand.’

David and Maeve confirmed their romance in June 2016, just weeks after suffering a heart attack and three months after announcing their separation from wife of 25 years, Coraline.
