Google says this new phone will be ‘more personal’ than previous smartphones due to the closer integration between hardware and software.

Some of this is powered by the new mobile processor, Google Tensor, which was designed specifically for Google’s work in artificial intelligence.

The firm says it ‘enables completely new capabilities for your smartphone, and makes the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro more supportive and more personal.’

One of the most striking features of the new device is the ‘Camera Bar’.

This metal bar sits at the rear of the phone to give the camera a ‘clean, symmetrical, balanced design that puts it front and center.’

The textured black metal camera bar is designed to complement the ‘expressive, versatile colors’ available for the phone, Google explained.

He drew inspiration from the finishes seen in luxury jewelry and watches, with a polished unibody metal that transforms into a 3D glass material.

It comes with Android 12, which is designed to be user-friendly, with wallpaper selection changing the entire user interface including icons.

There’s also a new look and new features on the ‘At a Glance’ home and lock screens, including exit information and other reminders.

The Pixel 6 Pro has the same features as the standard Pixel, but has a bigger, faster 120Hz display and an upgraded rear camera including a telephoto lens.

The cameras are also a major upgrade over previous Google-made smartphones, merging hardware and software to produce high-quality images.

Behind them is a 1/1.3-inch, 50-megapixel sensor that captures 150 percent more light than previous versions of Pixel phones.

This means photos will have more detail and richer colors. Combined with an ultrawide lens, this allows for even more scenes to be fitted within a single shot.

The Pro version includes a telephoto lens and four times optical zoom, making it possible to go from close-up to ultrawide, and so can film in 4K video.

AI provided by the Tensor processor allowed Google to add a number of new features, including a ‘magic eraser’ that can automatically remove distractions from photos – including strangers and unwanted objects.

It also has a feature called Motion Mode, which brings vibrancy to photos, adding a stylish blurry background to the otherwise…
