Apple says its iCloud Mail service isn’t working, which means people’s emails could be missing.
“Users may be unable to send, receive, or access mail,” reads a warning on Apple’s system status page.
All other services are still functioning normally according to the same page.
The problem comes down to a major day outage. They were informed amid ongoing problems on Instagram, where users were unable to refresh their feeds or access the app at all.
iCloud Mail — which is separate from the Apple Mail app on iOS and macOS — is a part of the vast suite of products Apple offers as part of iCloud. It also includes storage for files, notes, calendars and reminders, and tools to keep tabs and passwords in sync across devices.
Apple has been looking to promote iCloud Mail as part of a more general push into online services in recent years. New additions include the option to use the service for corporate or business email addresses, which is expected later this year with iOS 15.
It will be part of the company’s new “iCloud+” offering, which will cost the same as the existing payment service. It will also include a tool called Private Relay that hides web traffic, making it even more difficult to follow people on the web, and a Hide My Email tool that lets people use specific aliases instead of giving them their personal email addresses. lets you.
