Representative Omar targets fellow Democrats after Republicans use filibuster to scuttle election bill

A filibuster is a Senate process in which a senator or group of senators debates a bill for so long that the measure is not voted on. The process gives the minority party a stronger opposition voice in the Senate, with a Senate filibuster breaking 60 votes in favor of a clouter vote.
Wednesday’s filibuster is the third time this year that Senate Republicans have blocked Democrats’ voting overhaul agenda.
Progressives have been steadfast in their calls for the abolition of filibuster, however moderate Democrats sane. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kirsten Cinemas of Arizona have opposed the removal of the Senate process.
