A mother-of-two has revealed that she is expecting her third child at age 62, while she hasn’t menstruated at 16 and her husband had a vasectomy.
It’s safe to say that finding out she’s pregnant again came as a huge surprise to a woman named Jenny—who is known as good wife On Instagram – who had already gone through menopause.
Naturally, she assumed she could not get pregnant once her periods stopped and specifically her husband had to undergo a vasectomy – a surgical sterilization procedure.
Sharing her experience of geriatric pregnancy, Jenny described her baby as a “miracle” that took her and her partner, thoroughly, by surprise.
When it comes to getting pregnant as an older woman answering questions from a fellow mother or someone and asked if she had a “tube tied,” Jenny explained that she didn’t and her period. Wasn’t even 16 years old.
“No, my tube wasn’t tied, but my husband had a small piece,” she explained in a Video shared online.
“And I haven’t even had a cycle in 16 years,” the mother said, explaining that she “already went through menopause”.
Jenny, who is the mother of two grown sons, said: “So, this is a really miracle baby. Surprise.”
As well as addressing the common things that come with pregnancy, such as acid reflux, painful low kicks and what the baby feels like pressing into the bladder, Jenny also invokes the double standards surrounding men and women.
After revealing she was pregnant at age 62, Jenny revealed that no one asked her how old her husband was and while she is often told that she is “too old” to have children , her partner gets a “high five” from people.
in another Video Shared via Instagram, the mom says: “Coming to terms with my age as a pregnant woman at 62, it’s amazing that no one bothered to ask my husband’s age.
“When people know we’re expecting they get a good old high five.”
She revealed: “Okay, he’s 72 years old and have any questions?”
Jenny and her husband are expecting a third son which is due over Thanksgiving (November 25) in the US later this year.
As she prepares to give birth again, Jenny laughs at negative comments from people who have questioned her decision to have a baby at age 62.
In response to one person who claimed it was “unhealthy to have a child at age 35”, the soon-to-be mother of three teased: “It’s actually a good thing, thank you… I appreciate your guidance at this time.”
Others threw their support behind Jenny and insisted that “there is nothing wrong” with being a great mother.
“My kids were 24, 26, 28, 30, 37, 40, 43 and 48. Blessings at every age,” shared a fellow mom.
Another said: “There’s nothing wrong with being a big mom. I’m so happy for you.”
A third wrote: “I am pregnant with twins at 42 and had my 5th child at 40. My body tells what it can do. I don’t pay attention to anything else.
“Age doesn’t define us! You go!! Just had my first one at 45 (not by choice but by blessing),” added another.
Another simply posted: “I own my geriatric pregnancy.”
