The image showed the pair standing in front of their battlefield map, the 45-year-old Ant cutting a grand figure into his armor, while Dec, 46, relented in his efforts to remain as grim as possible.

A small glimpse into the idyllic Welsh scenery was given as two ponies were grazing in their background.

These were the same ponies who were seen riding Best Friends to a trailer before the new series last month.

‘Here we go, number one,’ a crew member declared before the pair clapped, ‘Yes!’

‘Very, very cool,’ remarked another contestant December, before the pair raised their eyebrows and said, ‘Oh.’

December’s face at the end of the clip was definitely a snap as she opened her mouth wide and gazed at one of the new cast members.

‘She’s amazing. We are delighted,’ they concluded – leaving fans to themselves with anticipation of time for the reality show’s return in November.

Preparations for the upcoming series are underway at the camp at Gwyrich Castle in North Wales, which will play host for the second year in a row due to travel restrictions around their usual home on Australia’s east coast.

ITV owners are facing a scuffle over time to renovate the dilapidated building – which is now closed to the public – and its surrounding areas, ahead of the new series starting in November.

The reality show, which usually films in the Australian wilderness, was forced to relocate to the dilapidated castle due to fears that Australia might close its borders due to the ongoing pandemic.

The manufacturers have filed a comprehensive planning application to the authorities in order to make the country house habitable in time for the new series.
