“We know that some people and businesses are having trouble accessing Facebook products,” the company said in a statement to USA Today on Friday. “We are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
According to downdetector.com, Facebook and its apps, which include Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, started experiencing problems around 3 p.m. Friday.
A company spokesperson did not comment on the extent or length of the outage.
The outage doesn’t seem as widespread as Monday’s six-hour outage. USA Today journalists had no problem accessing their Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp accounts.
