Jared Leto has said that he was brought to tears during the recent COVID-19 pass protests in Rome.

The protest took place on October 9, and was against the government’s campaign to make COVID-19 green passes mandatory for all workers.

Leto is currently in town, and was caught in the street when violence broke out between the police and the public. The actor took to Instagram stories to document the struggle.


“Stuck in a protest in Italy,” he wrote, as reported Metro. “Everything I gather was about the vaccine mandate/Green Pass.”

In another slide, he wrote: “Tears up then called it a night.”

A fan was able to capture the story and broadcast it via Twitter.

Leto will next appear on screen in Ridley Scott’s fashion biopic house of gucci Unlike Lady Gaga.

Gaga starred as Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani – herself the grandson of the luxury fashion brand founder Guccio Gucci. In real life, Maurizio was shot and killed in 1995, and Regiani was convicted of ordering his murder in 1998. He was released from prison in 2014.


Leto plays Paolo, the son of former fashion house head Aldo Gucci, who is represented in the film by Al Pacino.

The role called on Leto to don a bald cap, a facial prosthesis and a thick suit. He shared the first look of the character in July.
