when asked by Hollywood Reporter On why the actress who played Rachel in the beloved sitcom found the reunion “harder than expected,” she replied: “Time travel is hard.”

“I think we were so naive to walk into it, thinking, ‘How fun would this be? They’re putting the set back together, just like they were,'” Aniston continued.

“Then you get there and it’s like, ‘Oh well, I didn’t think about what was happening the last time I was actually here.’ And it surprised me because it was like, ‘Hi, past, remember me? Remember how that sucked? You thought everything was in front of you and life was going to be gorgeous and then you went through the hardest part of your life. Time passed?’

She continued: “It was all very upsetting and of course, you have cameras everywhere and I’m already a little emotionally accessible, I guess you can say, so let me out at some point. Had to leave. I don’t know how they cut it.”

Aniston’s friend Co-star Matthew Perry is currently working on an “extremely honest” memoir, about both his anxiety while working on the show and his experience with addiction.

Earlier this year, Aniston spoke out in support of the actor when she admitted that she experienced anxiety on set.

“I didn’t understand the level of anxiety and self-torture” [that] Matthew was put on Perry, if he didn’t get that laugh, and the devastation he felt,” Aniston told Today, “Which matters a lot.”
