She said: ‘She has seen me at my best, and at my lowest ever, and still wants to marry me. He is the love of my life and I am a very lucky person.’

Jeremy, who has four children from two previous marriages and a son with Vicky, has been dating Vicky — her children’s former nanny — and became engaged the following February.

Breaking his silence on being axed, Kyle said he feels ‘terrible’ at being ‘the scapegoat’ at death, adding that the charges were ‘often leveled only at me’.

Speaking about Vicky’s role in helping her recover, she said: ‘I couldn’t have done this without her – she’s just been so balanced and grounded and supportive…

‘He’s not from that TV world and his advice has really helped me find perspective. I would give massive credit to Vic for getting me back on my feet…
