Jessica Chastain has praised her former co-star Michael Shannon as one of the world’s greatest actors.

In the film, the pair play a happily married couple until Shannon’s character, Curtis, begins having terrifying visions of the impending apocalypse.

Chastain went on to say that Hollywood has a habit of casting Shannon in villainous or threatening roles because of speculations about her physical appearance.
“He’s a big guy, and so intense that our industry puts him in the really intimidating parts, because they like to play on his physicality,” she said.
“But I know he is most – he would probably hate me for saying it – I believe he is the most delicate, sensitive soul in our industry.
“When you go beyond the outside, the intensity, and you really see what’s out there… She’s so beautiful, sensitive and open. And so I think her work as Curtis take shelter One of the best performances ever captured in the film, period.”
