Joan Froggot reveals that Sir Mick Jagger is in love with Downton Abbey.

The 41-year-old actress, who plays Anna Bates in the popular drama, shared her shock over the fact that the legendary singer – known for her rock and roll lifestyle – is also a fan of the period drama.

The Golden Globe winner also discussed ’embarrassing’ herself when the Duchess of Cambridge visited the show’s set in 2015.

She recalled: ‘I embarrassed myself in front of the Duchess of Cambridge. She went to the Downton set and walked in when Michelle Dockery and I were filming a scene in Lady Mary’s bedroom.

She said: ‘It feels so strange to be in your bedroom’. I replied, ‘Yes, not many people come to Lady Mary’s bedroom. I didn’t mean it was a double entrance, but I swear I saw a faint twinkle of a smile.’

Joan had been working on Downton for years before her ‘game changer’ role landed, and although it gave her a huge boost to her career, she is glad the main series ended when she appeared but she is still working on spin-off films. Able to ‘pop back’.
