Judge Anton du Beke said: “I’m a little overwhelmed actually.
“I have to be honest with you, I thought it might be a little bit camp, this number.
“It was the best thing I’ve seen all night. You were so strong and reliable and powerful.”
Shirley Ballas said: “I’ve never seen anything like it. Thank you for closing our show with such a great performance.”
The routine received the highest score of any dance so far from the series.
CBBC host Rhys Stephenson and partner Nancy Xu finished second with a score of 37 for their Spider-Man-inspired routine.
In third place in the ranking was EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
He was scored 36 by the judges, who gave him a score of nine for his foxtrot in the Titanic theme song My Heart Will Go On.
Mabuse admired the simplicity of Ayling-Ellis’ routine.
She said: “I ask myself whether to complicate things, and you guys showed they don’t have to be complicated.
“They have to be simple.
“It was simply beautiful and it was a magical moment for me. Thank you so much for that.”
Du Beke said: “I actually feel a little emotional, because I remember dancing with Ann Widdecombe on Strictly Come Dancing on Titanic many years ago and it wasn’t quite the same, somehow.
“It was absolutely beautiful.”
Ravel Horwood simply commented: “Wonderful.”
Soap star Ayling-Ellis, who has played Frankie Lewis since 2020, has made history by becoming the show’s first deaf contestant as part of the line-up of the 2021 series.
McFly star Tom Fletcher and his dance partner Amy Dowden returned Strictly on Saturday with a score of 32.
The pair missed last week’s show after being hit by the coronavirus.
Olympians Adam Peaty and Katya Jones are currently at the bottom of the leaderboard after scoring 20 points.
One of the pairs will be removed on Sunday after a public vote.
