This will be Gaethje’s first since last October’s unsuccessful bid to consolidate the lightweight title against retired Khabib Nurmagomedov.

And The Highlight plans to find themselves back in title contention with the emphatic stoppage of the three-time Bellator champions.

They told ESPN: “There is only one common denominator in each of those fights and that is me.

“So, this is what I fight. This fight will be just that.

“I’m going to go out there and try to violently break up this dude as fast as I can.

“‘Most Violent Man’ and all that crap, no matter what, I’m 22-3 with 19 knockouts, who of those dudes can say that, who can say that he got his first seven Received nine bonus fights, not one of them.

“The common denominator every time is going to be me. That’s how I fight, that’s why they pay me so much.”

Chandler, 34, a recent title challenger, has planned to go hell for leather from the start.

But Gaethje doesn’t expect Sanford to be an MMA standout, with whom he eats some heavy shots.

He continued: “Being a wrestler, a lifetime being a competitor, I think he will be firing shots.

I’m going to go out there and try to violently break this dude as fast as I can.

“I think it’s going to be a big fight … that will be fun, fun for the crowd and fun for me.

“Will he start wrestling after I hit my big shots? I’m not sure, maybe.

“But again, I’ve been defending Takedown my whole life. If he wants to waste energy in there, that’s fine.

“He won’t be able to hold his face anymore when he stands up.”

Former World Series of Fighting champion Gaethje is adamant that the fight will not go away, predicting that he or Chandler will end the competition on their backs.

He told The Shamo: “He loves to fight just like me. Styles makes matchups and it’s a stylistic matchup for the fans.

“Someone’s going to get knocked out. Unless he turns into ab***h and tries to turn it into a wrestling match full time.

“He’s talking about sneaky spirits taking a step back. He’ll be a sneaky spirit when he starts shooting legs because he doesn’t like power. That’s what I think.”
