The latest in a series of musical ‘merit’ covers by up-and-coming group
Lily and Heaven from JYP Entertainment’s upcoming girl group share their rendition of the iconic Destiny’s Child single ‘Survivor’.

The two singers, who have been announced as part of the line-up for JYP Entertainment’s upcoming girl group, tentatively named JYPN, released a duet cover of Destiny’s Child’s 2002 hit song ‘Survivor’. The cover was removed as part of the ‘qualifying’ series, which was launched to introduce JYPn members.
For their rendition of ‘Survivor’, Lily and Heaven have shortened and separated the song, removing the dramatic opening chord and second verse. Meanwhile, the accompanying black and white video shows the couple performing the song in a non-narration studio.
All seven members of JYPn were announced as of last week, following the introduction of final member Lily with a jazzy cover of Bruno Mars’ “Fineness.” Other members that have been revealed to be part of the line-up include Bae, Sulliyun, Qijin, Jiwu and Genie.
Lily is also a former contestant on the fourth season of the featured TV singing competition. k-pop star which aired in 2015, where she finished fourth. The Korean-Australian singer signed with JYP Entertainment after the conclusion of the series.
JYPn is set to make its debut in February 2022, with the debut in July of this year with the debut of a project called “Blind Package”, a limited edition bundle featuring the new girl group’s upcoming debut single on limited editions. -Version CD.
JYPn will reportedly be operated by a team led by Lee Ji-young, the agency’s first female board member. In addition to Lee, the team will reportedly also include executives who helped scout and train members of other JYP Entertainment acts such as Wonder Girls, TWICE and 2PM.
