On Sunday, the 54-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter spoke candidly about the ongoing health battle of her Covid-stricken husband Derek Draper, whom she has nursed since his fatal medical crisis last year.
Pierce, who is handing over her Life Stories baton to the mom of two, asked the audience to Kate’s kids, 15-year-old Darcy and 12-year-old Billy, ask Kate’s son how proud he is of his mom.

When Pearce asked teenager Darcy about the past 20 months and her mother’s ‘how’s everything going’, she said: ‘She’s obviously amazing. She takes care of us, she always encourages us, it’s really cool. We are really proud of him.

She continued: ‘It’s moments like these that make you realize that he is there, and we have others. He will turn to me and say “I love you.” He is there, he has struggled a lot to be in this world and I am never leaving him.
