They’re “raising money on this, and you have all these Republican congressmen saying, ‘Come do the work for me,'” he said. “They want to trade on their celebrity, and I think that’s disgusting.”
Richards told Fox that his advice for Rittenhouse would be to “change your name and start your own life”.
He continued: “There are a lot of people who I don’t think have their best interests at heart – and probably want to make them symbolize something that I don’t think he necessarily wants to be associated with.”
Richards said he has already “talked” with his client and is advising him to change his name and stay out of the public eye.
“Once you give up your name and your likeness and you join those causes, I think a lot of people will use you for their own purposes,” he said. “You can’t control it.”
Richards said: “I hope he makes the right choice. I think it would be much easier for him to remain anonymous and move on with his life than to try to keep some of his ardent supporters happy. ,
