Ralf Schumacher believes Lewis Hamilton overreacted after a crash with Max Verstappen at the Italian Grand Prix.
Verstappen’s vehicle launched from the curb and landed on top of Hamilton’s Mercedes, leaving only the protective halo device to inflict serious injury on the world champion.
It was Verstappen and Hamilton’s second clash of the season, having previously clashed at the British Grand Prix.

Hamilton took some time to inspect the related damage to the two cars.
Although Hamilton was able to continue after the collision at Silverstone in July, both drivers were kicked out of the race at Monza.
Immediately after the incident, the Dutchman left without injury, while Hamilton took several minutes to exit his cockpit.
Britain then said they believed Verstappen ‘knew what was going to happen, but he did it nonetheless’.
Hamilton has since revealed that he needs to see a specialist before the Russian GP as his neck is getting ‘stiffer and tighter’.
However, Schumacher believes Hamilton has exaggerated the seriousness of the accident and even pointed out that Hamilton was able to attend the Met Gala only days after the incident.
They told game1: ‘I think Lewis was pretending too much about it, given that he went to New York the next day to attend an event.’

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko also believes Hamilton and his Mercedes team tried to ‘put on show’ after the incident.
Marco said Osterreich newspaper: ‘It was a normal racing accident. All the stories around it were pulled by the hair by Mercedes.
‘Verstappen was already out when Hamilton tried to go back to get out of the gravel.
The medical car saw this and moved on. And then a show is shown where poor Hamilton is suddenly injured.
