Pulled Apart by Horses has released their first single from their yet untitled fifth album – listen to ‘First World Problems’ below.

Leeds band released the 2019 single ‘Is this Thing On?’ The track is the first new material released since. While his new album will be his first full-length album since 2017’s ‘The Haze’.


Speaking about the ’70s-inspired garage rock track, Pulled Apart By Horse singer Tom Hudson explained: “(It) is a voiced dismay towards our prepared, individualistic society, where the real world and our online world Is full of constant exits of minors. / Trivial annoyances as if they are the center of the universe, when in reality there is more pressing matter and a bigger picture.”

Hudson said of the shift from ‘The Hedge’, “Our musical tastes change monthly, no matter the course of the years, so we’re never going to be the kind of band that does the same thing every time. The album will do.” This new record, influenced by ’70s garage rock.

“We’ve always been that band that’s ‘too heavy for the indie kids, and too indie for the heavy kids’ in terms of the industry, but it’s cool enough that people don’t really know where to put us, because it’s Doesn’t make sense – anyone can easily name a genre on us,” he said. “Now we have the freedom to be who we are.”

The band will release their fifth album next spring on indie label Alcopop! record.

Speaking about recording the LP, Hudson said: “The fat was cut! We spent months playing songs for the new album in our practice space and a little ‘Up Close and Personal to set them in stone. ‘ on the UK tour. We headed to Neve Studios in Leeds on the back of that tour and captured the track live, Tour Tight and Locked In!”
