The duo – Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville – are set to release their second album ‘Shame’ on 6 August, which will follow their first ‘Emotional Education’ (2019).
Coming out today (July 21), the whirlwind “Obsessed” tackles the lingering uncertainties within a romantic relationship. “Can I deceive you? / Can you deceive me too? / Is this loyalty, what is loyalty?“A verse goes.
The single, co-written and co-produced by Kiran Kai (Regi Snow, Jordan Rakei, Connie Constance), comes with a red-filtered and distorted official video.

‘Junoon’ follows up on previous songs ‘bored’ and ‘Cross Yourself’, both arrived this year. According to a press release, ‘Shame’ features tracks that were largely written during the coronavirus pandemic in Berlin.
“We got there, and we got COVID four weeks later. We had three weeks of Paradise where we wrote so much new music and it was everything we dreamed of, living that chaotic, routine lifestyle,” IDER explained in a statement.
“We Thelma and Louised It Back, because the message at the time was, ‘If you don’t come to London now, you’ll never come’.”

Meanwhile, IDER is set to hold an intimate sell-out show on 17 August at Map Studio Cafe in Kentish Town, London. “It’s so exciting that we’re not well,” he said. “A live, naked (as in stripped back) v intimate performance of new album ‘Shame’.”
