Track moves from Los Angeles artist ‘A beautiful place to be apart’ EP, which came out in September.

As Stark explained in a statement, “Cry On Me” continues on a pop-noir path, telling a “tale of falling in love at the wrong time”. Acoustic guitars mix with haunting keys and sound as the singer rekindles her doomed romance.

During the final verse, the singer laments for her ex-boyfriend: “Do you ever wonder where all the time goes? / kissing you hurts / fuck it i miss you / it’s always you“. Tune in here:

Speaking Alt PressStark – who is Cher’s granddaughter – said she was “telling the story of two lovers being separated by the time” through the emotionally charged track.

“Linearically I wanted to show little vignettes that feel like an eternal promise,” she continued. “We used a mix of organic and synthesized equipment and recorded everything on tape so that it suspended the disbelief of the era.”

Stark is set to release his first full-length album in 2022, although more details on the project have yet to be shared.

Last year, Jesse Joe Stark enlisted Yungblood to shoot a collection of special Polaroids with his single ‘Die Young’.
