The Brooklyn-based office of the FBI and US attorney has begun an investigation into how the New York government’s administration of Andrew Coromo handled the state’s nursing home crisis during the coronovirus epidemic, according to a report.
The investigation is not yet together and focuses on the top members of Cuomo’s coronovirus task force, Albany Times-Union Reported citing a source with direct knowledge of the case. Neither Cuomo nor any administration official has been accused of any wrongdoing at this point.

- Last August, the Justice Department sent requests to several state governors, including Cuomo, for data on deaths in nursing homes during the epidemic.
Members of Cuomo’s task force include Secretary of State Health Commissioner Howard Zucker of New York and Governor Melissa Derasa. Later this month it was scrutinized when it accepted information related to COVID-19 deaths in the nursing home with the Governor’s team.
Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz R-Texas is calling for a congressional investigation.
