Jurgen Klopp is said to be ‘in love’ with the 24-year-old and wants him at Anfield next summer
Jurgen Klopp is said to be ‘in love’ with the 24-year-old and Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has reportedly already made contact with Dembele’s representative Moussa Sissoko.
It has also been claimed that Edwards has made it clear to Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group, that Dembele is a priority target and urged them to approve his arrival.
Liverpool cannot formally hold talks with Dembele until January 1, when he enters the final six months of his contract at Barcelona.
Reports claim that Liverpool will offer him a lucrative signing bonus and a Lush token by not paying the transfer.
Dembele is believed to earn a net salary of £10.3m at Barcelona and Liverpool will have to match him to lure him to Merseyside.

Dembele has struggled with injuries, having played for Barcelona 118 times in just four years
But not paying the transfer fee for an exciting winger with the best years ahead of him could prove to be another quick piece of business by Liverpool’s recruitment department.
Dembele arrived in Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 in variables at the summer market for a base fee of €105m (£124m) plus €40m (£34m).
Klopp is looking to refresh his attacking options which include Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.
He has struggled for regular playing time due to multiple injury problems, playing 118 times for the Catalan giants in just four years. He has 30 goals and 21 assists in that time.
It was a source of frustration for Liverpool fans that the Reds failed to bring in another attacking player during the summer.
Three of Klopp’s regular frontrunners, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, have been strengthened by Diogo Jota over the past 12 months, but still lack depth compared to their title rivals.
Klopp has Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino as back-up for those four players and it was thought that they would move to the transfer market to add more quality.
But centre-back Ibrahima Konate was Liverpool’s only major signing, with the Frenchman arriving from RB Leipzig after a £36m release clause was triggered.
