Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons set to take the skies today

It’s time for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloons to take off again.

On Wednesday afternoons, New Yorkers can watch the famous giant characters being dressed up for Thursday’s parade, a tradition last year for in-person audiences was scrapped because of the pandemic.

The Macy’s Balloon Inflation Celebration begins at 12 noon on the streets around the American Museum of Natural History on the Upper West Side, ending six hours later.

The entrance is at 72nd Street and Columbus Avenue, with balloons lined up again On both 77th and 81st streets.

This will include a first look at new attractions, including the eagerly awaited arrival of Grogu, better known as ‘Baby Yoda’???? Disney???? From the Star Wars spinoff of ???? Mandalorian. ,

Other new balloons for the 95th parade include Ronald McDonald and Pokémon characters Pikachu and Eevee.

“We can’t wait to help New York City and the nation through the holiday season with the return of this cherished tradition,” said Parade’s executive producer, Will Coss.

While re-open to spectators, Inflation Fest has some COVID-19 restrictions, including a restricted ability to allow social distancing and a requirement to wear a mask at all times.

All visitors 12 years of age and older must also show proof of vaccination at the checkpoint, with proof of a negative test not being accepted. However, those under the age of 12 will be allowed as long as they are accompanied by a vaccinated adult.

The 95th parade is then scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday through the Upper West Side and Midtown Manhattan, ending with the arrival of Santa Claus.
