Manchester United want a final decision on Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford over Christmas.
The midfielder has entered the final 12 months of his current contract at the club and will be free to speak to other clubs in January.
The United bosses are desperate to avoid dragging the saga into the second half of the season to prevent any success that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can achieve.

The Red Devils are understood to have been quietly convinced over the past few months that the Frenchman will make his future for the club.
But they also know that there is interest from Europe’s elite – particularly Ligue 1 giants PSG – to land the French World Cup winner.
During the transfer window it was reported that the Parisians were reportedly willing to pay Pogba a wage of £510,000 a week if he joins him for free next summer.

Pogba has had a great start to the season. He began the campaign with an outstanding performance that saw the 28-year-old go into the Premier League history books, equaling the record for most assists in a game – a feat achieved by only seven other players.
Pogba is also believed to have welcomed his capture of Jadon Sancho, Rafael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
But United have already set their sights on Franck Casey as Pogba’s replacement if he ends up on the move, via La Gazzetta dello Sport, transfer market.
