A search is underway after a woman was raped in the back of a busy retail park.
Police are searching for a man with a “Birmingham accent” following a sexual assault on Parkland near the Princess Ellis complex in Sutton Coldfield at around 10 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim is undergoing treatment at the hospital as the police appeal that anyone who has CCTV footage or has information about the attacker, should come forward.
The suspect is described as a white man aged 20 to 35, who was wearing a gray tracksuit and black trainers and spoke with a Birmingham accent.
West Midlands Police said it had received information from locals that someone matching the description was hanging around the park.
Anyone who sees someone matching the description in the previous days or weeks is asked to immediately call the police on 101, citing investigation number 20/1595275/21.
People in the area with CCTV, dash or doorbell cameras are also being urged to check their equipment.
Detective Inspector Andy McHugh, who is leading the investigation, said: “We will be working round the clock to find this man, but you can help by checking your CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage.
“Find anything that doesn’t look right. If you see something, tell me right away.
“Our thoughts are with the woman who is deeply hurt.”
