Manitoba man believed armed and dangerous ‘an immediate threat to the general public’: RCMP

The Manitoba RCMP now says that a man believed to be armed and dangerous who was last seen driving erratically at Interlake is an immediate danger to the general public.

Wesley Manfred Wadian, 38, is wanted in connection with an arrest warrant for charges of threatening and pointing a firearm, as well as several other offences.

After alerting the public about Wadian late Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP sent an emergency alert shortly before 7 p.m. and warned that they now consider him an immediate threat. Another alert was sent again at around 7:45 pm


Police say the warning applies to the Selkirk, Interlake and Winnipeg areas.

Wadian was in Selkirk around 12 noon on Wednesday, but was last seen driving the wrong way before 4 p.m. at Interlake on Highway 17 and Road 12 East.

He is frequently seen in the Garden City and West Kildonan neighborhoods in Winnipeg.

Wadian is five feet seven inches tall and 146 pounds, with dark, closely shaved hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving the white Dodge Ram license plate KRC 820.

The police have warned against contacting Wadian.

They say that anyone who sees Wadian should call 911 immediately.
