marvel’s avengers Designer Brian Wagner has been removed as a studio spokesperson for Crystal Dynamics following a series of offensive tweets he previously posted online.

The tweets in question, which were pulled back in early 2010, were brought to light by the gaming community due to their racist, ableist and homophobic content.

Most of the posts have since been removed, but one from 2020, in which Wagner described himself as “trump voters“Still is.

Wagner apologized after the offending tweets came to light and said that he “takes full responsibility for the hurt caused to my followers, community, and those I work with.”

“Since that time, I have learned and evolved and the content I have posted does not reflect who I am today,” he added. Tweeted on Monday (21 November). “I understand if you cannot accept my apology because of the pain I have caused. I will continue to listen, learn, and work to better myself.”

Shortly after Wagner’s apology, Crystal Dynamics confirmed that he would no longer be a spokesperson for the studio or provide information about any of their projects.

“It is incredibly disappointing to see language and views from employees that are not in line with our studio values,” the company said. Tweeted, “We apologize to our community and colleagues who were justifiably upset by the content. Brian will no longer be a studio spokesperson or communicate about studio projects.

The company did not specify whether Wagner would continue as one of their designers.
