An 82-year-old man driving through Boston was cornered and attacked last week by a mob of people riding dirt bikes and ATVs. Now, the Massachusetts State Police is asking for the public’s help in tracking down criminals.

The attack took place last Thursday evening at around 7.30 pm. The victim was driving his 1996 Buick Century when he was surrounded by 30 to 40 dirt bike and ATV riders.

The state police said the mob forced the man to stop and started breaking his windows. He managed to escape, but was chased by several riders who started hitting and hitting his vehicle, according to the police.

While trying to escape, the victim got stuck in the traffic. Then he rolled his window down and told people in the other car to call 911.

One of the attackers threw a big stone at the victim's car.

Police said a male rider began punching the man through an open window, while others continued to kick his car. Another suspect reportedly threw a piece of a pipe through a Buick’s rear window and another threw a large rock through another window.

The man stopped at Joe's Quick Market after the attackers fled.

The victim was eventually able to walk away, stopping at Joe’s Quik Market, where he passed out and fell to the ground. Boston EMS responded and was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where he lives. Police said he was expected to survive.

Massachusetts State Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the matter. Anyone with relevant information is being asked to call the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County at 617-727-8817.
