This season, things have not gone quite as the Miami Heat planned. Only a few months earlier, it was Darling of the NBA, riding high on an unexpected postson run that saw him en route to the Eastern Conference Juggernauts for a Finals appearance against Lebanon and the Lakers.

But injuries took their toll, and it has since exceeded. Tyler Herrow missed seven games due to neck cramps last month and may miss the extra time after one of his housewives tested positive for COVID. In January, Jimmy Butler missed 10 games due to the COVID security protocol.

Now, you can add Meyers Leonard to that seemingly injury-spanning list. Leonard was sidelined before the first week of January with a shoulder injury, and according to the latest report, his lack of progress in his rehabilitation led him to undergo season-end surgery.

Leonard appeared in just three games this season and averaged 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds. The Heat are 7-13 for the season and have suffered losses in seven of the last 10 matches. When they play back-to-back games against the Wizards on Wednesday and Friday this week, they will try to gain some kind of traction.
