Moab, Utah – Utah investigators have determined that there is no connection between the horrific double murder of a newlywed couple found dead just outside Moab and the missing man case of Gabby Petito, who passed through town with a fiancé who was without her in Florida. walked back.
“It has been determined that the Gabby Petito missing person case is not related to the double murder involving Crystal Turner and Kylan Schulte,” Grand County Sheriff Steven White said in a statement Friday afternoon.

Police said last month that Crystal Turner, 38, and Kylan Schulte, 24, were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the South Mesa area of La Sal Loop Road on August 18. He was last seen alive on August 13 at Woody Tavern in downtown Moab.
The sheriff’s office said local businesses and anonymous donors are offering a $20,000 reward for information that could settle the case. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (435) 259-8115.
The authorities were seeing the cases as connected as possible due to the closeness in time and space.
The day before Turner and Schulte went missing, an incident related to another unsolved case occurred just outside Moonflower, where Schulte was working until 3 p.m. on August 12. A witness called 911 to report a possible domestic incident between Petito and his fiancée. , Brian Laundry, at around 4:30 p.m. that day.
Weeks later, Laundry went home to his parents’ home in Florida—in Petito’s van but without him. He then hired a lawyer and said nothing to the police — or to his fiancé’s family, according to officials.
