A mother with ‘worst luck ever’ with contraception has vowed to have a vasectomy – after she got pregnant twice while on the pill and had a third ‘miracle’ baby after her husband’s vasectomy.
Kate Herman and her business owner partner Dan Herman, of Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, decided they would have a vasectomy in July 2015 after becoming pregnant with their fourth child, Lottie Herman, despite being on contraception.
But three years later the 39-year-old had ‘the blow of her life’ when she learned she was expecting, and subsequent home fertility tests showed Dan actually had a normal sperm count, despite the procedure.
The beautician sadly miscarried, but believing that it was fate that they were to have more children, the pair tried again and she became pregnant with Buddy, who is now two years old, some Only a week later.

Kate has nicknamed him her ‘miracle child’ because she was conceived after a vasectomy – which is considered more effective than the percentage – and survived a number of complications, including Group B strep.
At one point the doctors urged Kate to have an abortion and warned that she might die, but she refused.
After an ‘absolutely insane’ series of events, the devoted mother stated that she would be sterilized early next year, although her business owner husband said that if she became pregnant again after that ‘it had to happen’ Is’.
Kate said: ‘The prospect of having another baby after the vasectomy and then a miscarriage, I feel like she’s my miracle baby.
‘I think we can definitely be the unlucky couple when it comes to contraception, so I’m having a vasectomy.

‘I’ve read up on this and not all sterilizations are 100 percent effective, so Dan has already said that if I get pregnant after a vasectomy, it has to happen.’
The 12-year-old beautician claims she became pregnant with her eldest son, Charlie, 20, while she was on the pill and believes her IBS symptoms or medication interfered with contraception.
The 39-year-old was unsure about trying it again, but after a doctor’s assurance, he tried it again.
Kate said: ‘I went on the pill and got pregnant with Lottie six months after having Stanley.
‘Because we had our little girl who was also surprised, I said: “I’m not going to go on birth control anymore, I am” and she said ‘I’ll have a vasectomy’.
‘ He had done so. He was in as much pain as you can imagine a man was talking about. I was like, “I’ve pushed four kids out, man up”.
‘He was to send a sample to check his sperm count and I was saying in his case all the time, “Get it checked, you gotta send it” and he was like “No, the doctor said it’s 99.9 percent effective Yes, I’m fine”.
‘So we went on as usual and I was having unprotected sex for three or four years, then I was late on my period. I’m never late, I’m usually always early.

‘My twin sister said to me, “You’re pregnant” and I said “No, I’m not, I can’t get pregnant, Dan had a vasectomy.”
But the next day, as Kate was five days late, she took a pregnancy test which came back positive.
Kate said: ‘When I saw the Test I felt the complete shock of my life. I was shocked and scared and thought ‘How are we going to survive? Because we only live in a four bedroom house.
‘ I sent him a picture of it and he was like “What?” as it was And I said “I’m pregnant” and he was like “You can’t be, I’m a Jaffa” and I was like “You clearly aren’t”.
