“Maybe there’s a reason Xenos went down that path”
FINAL FANTASY XIVThe director and producer of Naoki Yoshida has indicated the reason why the game’s antagonist plays the Reaper. endwalker.

During Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker Media Tour, Granthshala spoke to Naoki Yoshida about the upcoming expansion as well as the gameplay demo we played. In response to questions about how the game’s frequent antagonist Lord Xenos abandoned his samurai class for the latest Reaper, Yoshida hinted that it might have something to do with the player.
“It’s not really that we wanted Reaper to have a big role in the story, or to have a big influence in the story, but maybe there’s a reason for Genos to go down that path,” Yoshida said.
The main scenario of the game is during the quest, starting from stormbloodOf course, Zenos often refers to the Warrior of Light – the player – as his “friend”, which has become a running joke of sorts. FINAL FANTASY XIV Community.
“So of course, since Xenos is a Reaper, he would clearly be using an avatar,” he continued. “Xeno’s only friend is the Warrior of Light, so in that respect maybe his avatar is a variation of our Warrior of Light. (laughs) But please make sure, I didn’t put it explicitly here, what happens to Xenos Looking forward to seeing it.”
