Authorities said one in five North Carolina mothers were mistakenly shot and killed when one of their children received a gun.

Police responded around 7 pm Monday to Gabriel Henderson’s apartment in Cornelius, where he was found dead in a bedroom behind the house, According to Cornelius Police Department.

Police said officers also found a small semicircular handmade on the bed.
