Netflix has acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company with plans to create a universe in multiple formats.

The streaming giant struck an initial deal with the writer’s company in 2018, starting plans for an animated series based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory With all . an adaptation of Matilda the Musical.
Adaptations will now span animated and live-action films and television shows, but also publications, games, immersive experiences, theatres, merchandise and more.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said a joint statement With Luke Kelly, MD, RDSC: “These stories and their messages of the power and possibility of young people have never felt more relevant.
“As we bring these timeless stories to more audiences in new formats, we are committed to maintaining their unique spirit and their universal themes of wonder and kindness while sprinkling some new magic into the mix.”
According to DiversityRDSC’s 26 employees will keep their jobs and a large portion of the profits from the sale will help set up a charitable trust focusing on children’s health, anti-hatred and racism.
