Tired of getting lost in towns, two New World Players create their own minimap to help navigate the world of Aeternum.

as seen gamerent, Reddit user Morbrid – with the help of his friend – has created a totally functional minimap In New World. After “always losing track of where things are in cities”, Morbrid created a minimap – complete with icons for important places – and featured it in a video posted yesterday (14 October).

Along with mapping the player’s location, New World The minimap also “tracks ores, herbs, essences, chests and more”.
In a separate comment, Morbrid explained how the minimap actually works. Clarifying that it doesn’t use “memory reading,” the modder says, “It only takes screenshots of coordinates that are displayed at FPS. [counter] is activated, and analyzes the image”.

Morbrid acknowledges that “it seems a bit of a gray area” because the minimap helps users find resources, but notes that other websites already do the same. The modder also highlights that New World The minimap is on Overwolf, “As far as I know, Overwolf is EAC” [Easy Anti-Cheat] Whitelisted and since this is the only process that runs, you are unlikely to be banned.”
