Richard E. Grant has shared footage of himself preparing for his role in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, the premiere of which he attended Monday night.

The actor, who plays drag queen Loco Chanel in the new film based on the West End hit, took to Twitter on Tuesday to try walking in heels for the first time, while his late wife Joan commented.

In the accompanying caption, Richard, 64, explained that Joan, who passed away this month at the age of 71, was not only her vocal coach for the film, but also taught her how to walk in high heels. The award-winning actor wrote: ‘Notes from my dear late wife.’

Shortly after Richard’s outing he thanked well-wishers for their support – as he said the grief had hit him ‘like a tsunami’ after losing his wife.

She shared a collection of family photos on Twitter earlier this month, with the message: ‘Overwhelmed by the messages of love, condolences and support we have received from loved ones and strangers around the world and the appreciation that actor Joanne has taught over the years, I am overwhelmed by it. .

Joan, a voice coach from Aberdeen, met Grant early in her career in 1986, and the pair have been together ever since.

The Withanel and I star revealed that Joan passed away this month in an emotional tribute that included a video of the pair dancing together and hugging before singing along to the song with laughter.
