A 20-year-old man is believed to have been shot dead in north London, while two others are being treated for gunshot wounds following a night of violence in north London.
Police were called at 10.31 pm on Tuesday after receiving information about a man being shot at Green Lane in north London, near the junction with West Green Road.
Firearms officers were deployed to the scene, along with the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance, but despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 11 p.m.
Police were called again to a hospital in north London, just before 11 p.m., after a 24-year-old man – whom police called victim two – presented himself with gunshot wounds. Weather police said his injuries, however, were not life-threatening.
Subsequently, further calls were received after a 24-year-old from a residential address in Edmonton, north London – whom police called Victim Three – reported that he had been shot in the Green Lane area.
The man was taken to an east London hospital for treatment, but his injuries are also not considered life-threatening.
Authorities believe Victim Three was shot while passing near the original Green Lane shooting.
The homicide detectives of the Specialist Crime Command Unit have been informed about the incident and an investigation will be conducted.
The firing is not believed to be related to terrorism.
There are currently several crime scenes, but no arrests have been made so far.
