Adele has revealed that three of her closest friends weren’t impressed with her record-breaking new track Easy on Me when they first heard the song.
Speaking on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James on Friday, the 33-year-old hit-producer explained: ‘I sent a snippet of him singing it as I was writing it to three of my closest friends. One didn’t like it, the other was like, “Okay, yeah, maybe, keep trying”.
Saying that a friend was so busy at work even to listen to the track – which set a new world record for most streams in a single day – Adele insisted: ‘It was the perfect reaction to me. .’

She explained to Greg: ‘I’m such a knee-jerk person. I’ll be like, ‘I don’t like this, forget it!’ I’m like that with my music.
‘I am what I want to be. I’m like that with my feelings and things and I think it was obvious to them [her friends] In the lyrics of that song I have given my time and I was not reacting to any reaction or anything of that sort.’
She concluded: ‘It was just a feeling I had stirred up for a while.’
Adele’s upcoming album 30 is set to release on 19 November.

Spotify revealed on Friday that Easy On Me has set a new record by becoming the most streamed song ever in a single day, titled: ‘And like @adele sets a new record.’
The singer left her fans in tears as she finally released her first new track in five years – reflecting the pain she felt amid her divorce from husband Simon Konecki.
The much-anticipated single, which released on YouTube at midnight on Friday before the set of her 30 album to be released next month, soon shot to YouTube’s top trending clips.
With the music video – which sees the star packing up her house and driving away, as pages of sheet music pop out of windows across the street – the single went down in a storm with fans claiming Went on twitter to say that it was giving them. ‘Goosebumps’ and making them ‘sob’.
Another claimed that he wanted to divorce himself.
